BE Energy Signs Agreement With Oracle for Up to 2.8 GW of Power to Support AI Data Centers

BE Energy has signed a master services agreement with Oracle to provide up to 2.8 gigawatts (GW) of solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) power generation to support artificial intelligence data center infrastructure.

Under the agreement, an initial 1.2 GW of power capacity is already being deployed, marking the first phase of the project.

The companies said the agreement is intended to provide an independent power supply for Oracle-related AI data centers, addressing the growing electricity requirements associated with large-scale artificial intelligence computing.

Demand for dedicated energy infrastructure has increased as technology companies accelerate investments in AI data centers, whose computing workloads require significantly greater and more reliable power capacity than traditional cloud facilities.

Solid oxide fuel cell technology is designed to generate electricity with high efficiency and can be deployed as an on-site power solution, helping reduce dependence on conventional grid infrastructure.

The agreement reflects a broader trend of technology companies securing long-term energy resources to support the expansion of artificial intelligence infrastructure and high-performance computing capacity.
