Trump Addresses the Nation from the White House, Calls Charlie Kirk’s Assassination an Attack on America

In a solemn address from the White House on Wednesday evening, President Donald J. Trump condemned the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, which took place on a college campus in Utah.

Visibly shaken, Trump said he was “filled with grief and anger” over the crime, describing it as “an attack against the entire American nation.”

“Charlie inspired millions of young people and dedicated his life to open debate, freedom, democracy, and the American people. The monster who attacked him did not just strike one man, but our whole country,” President Trump declared.

During his remarks, Trump emphasized that political violence carried out by radical groups has already taken too many innocent lives. He pledged that his administration will act decisively to identify and punish those directly and indirectly responsible for this atrocity.

“My administration will find each and every one of those involved in this heinous crime, including the organizations that fund and support this kind of political terrorism. This must stop immediately,” he said.

The president also recalled other recent episodes of political violence in the United States and called for national unity to confront what he described as “the rhetoric of hate fueling domestic terrorism.”

Closing his speech, Trump praised Charlie Kirk’s legacy as a defender of youth engagement and free speech, promising that his message will endure:

“An assassin tried to silence Charlie with a bullet, but failed. His voice, his message, and his legacy will live on for countless generations. May God bless his memory, his family, and the United States of America.”
