Roche and Nurix Enter $2.3 Billion Deal to Develop BTK Degrader Bexobrutideg

Roche and Nurix Therapeutics have entered a collaboration valued at up to $2.3 billion to jointly develop and commercialize bexobrutideg (NX-5948), Nurix’s investigational BTK degrader.

The agreement brings Roche into the development of a targeted protein degradation therapy being studied for B-cell malignancies. Bexobrutideg is designed to eliminate Bruton’s tyrosine kinase, or BTK, a protein involved in signaling pathways that contribute to the growth and survival of certain cancer cells.

Under the collaboration, the companies will work together on the development and commercialization of the drug, expanding the resources available for its clinical program and potential global launch.

The transaction represents a significant partnership for Nurix and adds another targeted protein degradation program to Roche’s oncology development strategy.

Targeted protein degradation differs from conventional inhibition by seeking to remove disease-related proteins from cells rather than solely blocking their activity. The approach has attracted growing attention across pharmaceutical research as companies evaluate its potential against targets that may be difficult to address with traditional therapies.

Bexobrutideg is currently being evaluated as an investigational treatment and has not been approved for commercial use.

The $2.3 billion headline value represents the potential value of the collaboration and should not be interpreted as an immediate payment to Nurix.
