U.S. stock futures were mixed Monday, with semiconductor memory shares leading gains after the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite completed their third consecutive week of advances.
Nasdaq 100 futures rose about 0.5%, while contracts tied to the S&P 500 gained 0.1%. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures declined roughly 0.2%.
The moves followed a weaker session on Friday, when all three major U.S. indexes finished lower. Despite the decline, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq secured a third straight weekly gain, while the Dow ended the week lower, breaking a two-week winning streak.
Semiconductor and memory-related stocks were among the strongest performers in early trading, providing support to the technology-heavy Nasdaq as artificial intelligence infrastructure and demand for advanced computing hardware remained in focus.
The latest moves also followed weaker U.S. consumer data. Retail sales declined 0.6% in July, compared with expectations for a 0.1% increase, adding another indication of softer economic momentum.
Elsewhere across markets, the 10-year U.S. Treasury yield stood around 4.70%, while gold traded near $4,451 an ounce. Bitcoin was around $63,252.
The combination of weaker economic data and continued strength in technology shares comes as the Federal Reserve’s interest-rate outlook remains a central factor for U.S. markets.
