NYPD Confirms 3 Killed, 8 Wounded After Gunfire Erupts at Brooklyn Lounge

New York Police Department (NYPD) confirmed that a shooting in the early hours of Saturday left 3 dead and 8 injured at a restaurant/lounge located on Franklin Avenue, in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn.

According to preliminary information, around 3 a.m., the 911 emergency call center received multiple reports of gunfire inside the establishment known as Taste of the City.

Police units arrived within minutes and found several gunshot victims. In total, 11 people were struck, ranging in age from 27 to 61 — including 8 men and 3 women.

The NYPD stated that three victims were pronounced dead at the scene: a 27-year-old man, a 35-year-old man, and another male whose age has not yet been identified. The eight surviving victims were transported to local hospitals, where they are being treated for injuries that are, at this time, not considered life-threatening.

During the investigation, police recovered at least 36 shell casings from multiple firearms. The department also confirmed that more than one shooter was involved. So far, no arrests have been made.

Detectives are reviewing CCTV footage from inside and around the establishment and are investigating whether a firearm recovered near Bedford Avenue and Eastern Parkway is connected to the crime.

The NYPD said the names of the victims will be released only after family notifications have been completed. The investigation remains ongoing.
