Downtown Framingham Inc., in collaboration with the City of Framingham and in partnership with local entrepreneurs, hosted on Sunday (7) the second edition of the Framingham Business Trade Show. The event, which is already becoming a fixture in the city’s calendar, aimed to boost local businesses — with a special focus on immigrant entrepreneurs — and transform downtown Framingham into a true showcase of entrepreneurship, culture, and diversity.
Bringing together business leaders, influencers, investors, and the Brazilian community, the fair stood out as a major festival of innovation and opportunities, celebrating the fundamental role of immigrants in the American economy.
Coincidentally held on September 7, Brazil’s Independence Day, the event featured as one of its highlights a fashion show with Brazilian models. The presentation underscored the strength of the Latin American community in the United States, showcasing collections from stores founded by Brazilian entrepreneurs and reaffirming the connection between fashion, business, and cultural identity.
According to organizers, the initiative was designed to highlight immigrant talent, create space for independent designers and brands, and reaffirm Brazil as a creative reference within the American market.
Under the artistic direction of stylist Angelo Ribeiro and personal stylist João Vieira, the show went far beyond fashion. Each appearance represented pride, representation, and the Latin entrepreneurial spirit, transforming the runway into a stage of inclusion and visibility.
“The Fashion Show was the fulfillment of a dream I never imagined would come true.
Having my first show in Framingham is deeply meaningful because this was the city that welcomed me when I first arrived in the United States. I am profoundly grateful to everyone who led this project in the city. I must also thank my handpicked models, who gave an outstanding performance, as well as our photographer and storyteller Paula Beatriz Bonfim, who did brilliant work. A special recognition also goes to our partners — Infinite Love, Passarela Shoes, Miss Chic, Cloe, Exclusivas, and Lyon & Lamb — who embraced the idea with such love and care. And of course, to the dear João Vieira, personal stylist, whose dedication was essential in making this show an unforgettable experience,” said Angelo.
João Vieira added:
“This show was truly an unforgettable experience. We had the participation of six Brazilian stores, and each stage — from selecting the pieces to creating each look — was a complete immersion in the fashion world. Alongside Angelo, I had the honor of debuting my brand, Lion & Lamb, on the runway for the very first time. Seeing this dream come to life was very special because fashion has always been in my heart. I grew up in a family where fashion was part of daily life, and that influence carried me to this moment. This marks not only a professional achievement but also the realization of something that is part of my essence.”
Brazilian models living in Massachusetts walked the runway wearing collections that combined elegance, sustainability, and cultural identity, becoming symbols of inspiration for a new generation of immigrant entrepreneurs.
For model Elisiane Ribeiro, the experience was particularly emotional:
“Participating in this show, especially on September 7, the day we celebrate Brazil’s Independence, carried enormous significance for me. Walking the runway was not just about fashion — it was about identity, belonging, and pride. Representing our Brazilian community here in the United States, at an event that celebrates our culture and history, was both moving and symbolic. I felt as if I was carrying a piece of our homeland with me, showing that even far away, we carry our roots and traditions in our hearts. It was an honor and a tremendous joy to live this experience.”
Beyond the fashion show, the event expanded its relevance by promoting community connections and offering a diverse cultural program. The public enjoyed culinary flavors from multiple cultures, a dedicated children’s area, and an educational and cultural hub featuring seminars, hands-on workshops, and musical performances, reinforcing the inclusive and democratic character of the Trade Show.
According to official data, Framingham, Massachusetts, is home to the largest Brazilian immigrant community in the United States. With this edition, the city reaffirmed its role as a hub of business and innovation for Latinos, strengthening connections, generating income opportunities, and celebrating the cultural roots of immigrants who continue to transform the region.
