Artificial intelligence company Anthropic reportedly generated $16.8 billion in revenue during the third quarter of 2026 and recorded its second consecutive quarter of adjusted profitability, according to financial information disclosed to investors and described in industry reports.
The figures suggest that Anthropic is making progress toward improving the economics of its AI business, even as the cost of developing and operating advanced models remains a major consideration across the technology industry.
According to the reported disclosures, Anthropic generated approximately $1.70 in revenue for every $1 spent on computing power during the quarter. Its adjusted operating margin reached 11%, excluding stock-based compensation.
However, the company’s revenue growth reportedly slowed to approximately 45% in the third quarter, compared with growth of more than 100% in the second quarter.
Computing Efficiency Becomes a Key Financial Indicator.
One of the most significant figures in Anthropic’s reported financial performance is the relationship between revenue and computing expenditure.
Generating $1.70 in revenue for every dollar spent on computing power suggests that the company is earning more from its AI services than it spends on the computing resources measured by that metric.
