Eli Lilly Revenue Surges 45% in 2025 as GLP-1 Drugs Drive Record Sales

Eli Lilly and Company reported record financial results in 2025, with total revenue rising 45% year over year to $65.18 billion, up from $45.04 billion in 2024, driven by continued demand for its GLP-1 diabetes and obesity treatments.

The company’s performance was led by Mounjaro, which generated $36.5 billion in annual sales, becoming the world’s best-selling prescription medicine.

Growth continued into 2026. During the first quarter, Eli Lilly reported revenue of $19.8 billion, representing a 56% increase compared with the same period a year earlier.

Sales of the company’s GLP-1 portfolio remained the primary growth driver. Revenue from Mounjaro increased 125% year over year, while Zepbound, the company’s obesity treatment, posted an 80% increase in sales.

Eli Lilly also reported adjusted earnings per share (EPS) of $8.55 for the first quarter of 2026, exceeding analysts’ consensus estimate of $6.66, reflecting continued revenue growth and operating profitability.

The company generated $22 billion in free cash flow and projects that figure could reach approximately $47 billion by 2030, supporting continued investment in research and development, manufacturing capacity and future product launches.

Demand for GLP-1 therapies has transformed the pharmaceutical industry over the past two years, with treatments for diabetes and obesity becoming some of the fastest-growing segments in global healthcare.

Eli Lilly continues to expand manufacturing capacity and invest in its product pipeline as demand for GLP-1 medicines remains strong across multiple international markets.
