European equities recovered from a subdued start on Wednesday, supported by strong corporate updates, while geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and upcoming earnings from major U.S. technology companies remained in focus.
The EURO STOXX 50 gained 0.3%, while the STOXX Europe 600 advanced 0.4%, led by industrial, financial, and banking stocks.
Airbus posted one of the strongest performances of the session, climbing more than 6% after announcing a €5 billion share buyback program and raising its financial guidance.
Recruitment firm Randstad surged nearly 8% after reporting revenue that exceeded analysts’ expectations, making it one of the top-performing stocks in the STOXX 600.
In the banking sector, UniCredit rose 1.3%, reaching a 16-year high of €83.53 ahead of its quarterly earnings release. Santander rebounded nearly 2% after reporting a 17% year-over-year increase in underlying second-quarter net profit.
Technology stocks, however, underperformed the broader market. ASML Holding declined 2.1%, SAP fell 1.2%, and STMicroelectronics slipped 0.8%.
Attention also remained on geopolitical developments in the Middle East, where continued tensions have influenced energy markets and broader financial sentiment in recent weeks.
Later in the day, Alphabet and Tesla are scheduled to release quarterly earnings, with their results expected to provide additional insight into technology sector performance and corporate spending trends.
